Super easy fresh & creamy avocado dip with a hint of chili

It’s been a while since the last recipe, so I’m even more excited to come back with this super easy, delicious recipe! We had a lot of long weekends in Austria in the past weeks and I think I made the most of them travelling around Europe visiting friends, eating great food and enjoying life, sun, sea and the good weather – it was fantastic!

I came up with this dip a spart of another recipe (will be posted in the next couple of days), but it’s so delicious that I decided it should get a stand-alone blog entry.

Basically (as the title states), it is similar to guacamole, but also contains curd cheese, which results in a much creamier consistency and a nice freshness, which is also complemented by the lemon juice. And because oft he chili you have a nice spicy aftertaste (or a lot, depending on how much chili you put into the dip 😉 ). The single most important thing is just to use a really ripe avocado, so you can mash it easily with a fork.

For the health nuts among you (myself included), this dip is great, because you have all the healthy fatty acids from avocado and olive oil, but also a fair amount of protein due to the curd cheese. All in all, it’s a perfect combination!

What is great about this dip is that you can do so many different things with it: serve it with tortilla chips if you want a health dip to go with your nibbles, use it as a spread on some (toasted) bread as a snack, serve it with grilled meat or put it in a wrap, or – and I’ve been doing that because I like this dip so much – just eat it with a spoon.

Last but not least, it only takes 5 (very well spent) minutes to make this dip, it’s super easy, healthy and tastes great, you simply can’t go wrong with it. Bottom line: try it out!


1 ripe avocado
½ tomato, finely chopped
60g curd cheese
1 tbsp olive oil extra vergine
juice of half a lemon
3-4 stalks of fresh coriander, leaves picked, finely chopped
½ red chili, seeds removed, finely chopped
salt, pepper

1. Cut the avocado into halves, discard the stone and place the flesh in a mixing bowl. Mash the avocado with a fork until creamy and (almost) no chunks remain.

2. Add the curd cheese, lemon juice and olive oil and mix well until you have a smooth, creamy dip.

3. Last but not least, stir in tomatoes, coriander and chili and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Voilà! Enjoy this refreshing dip with chips, grilled meat or use it as a spread on bread or in wraps. It’s lovely. 🙂
